‘American Idol’ Season 14 Winner Nick Fradiani and Runner-Up Clark Beckham Reveal Their Secrets at ‘DISH Nation’

Nick Fradiani won Season 14 of "American Idol' on Wednesday, May 13. He joined "DISH Nation' on Friday, May 15 and revealed some juicy details of his life after "Idol.' Runner-up Clark Beckham also joined "DISH Nation' and shared what was on his mind.

Fradiani, whom judges have referred to as a dark horse during the competition said that it took him "a while to get comfortable" because he was in a band his whole life. He revealed that it was during Top 8 that he "started feeling good and kind of got comfortable." Fradiani was the oldest contestant in Season 14 to make it so far.

"I was the oldest one of the show. They called me grandpa," said 29-year-old Fradiani.

Fradiani told "DISH Nation' that he auditioned for "Idol' eight years ago with one of his closest friends. While his friend made it to the next round, Fradiani got cut. He shared that he never revealed this to the judges on "Idol.'

"I was like 21. I didn't even make it past the executives," confessed Fradiani.

The Season 14 winner said that he broke up with the girlfriend whom he has dating during "Idol' auditions. He stated that the two are still good friends. After the interview Fradiani was asked to sing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.' He received a golden ticket from the judges after singing "In Your Eyes" by Peter Gabriel. He made it to the Top 24 by performing "Drops of Jupiter" by Train at the House of Blues.

Runner-up Clark Beckham also sang "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' during his interview with "DISH.' He also shared that he is happy and feeling positive about having competed in "Idol' this past season.

"Four months ago I was begging people to look at me," said Clark Beckham, referring to the days he played as a street performer in Texas.

He received his golden ticket from the judges after singing "It's A Man's World" by James Brown. Beckham made it to the Top 24 for singing "Georgia on My Mind" by Ray Charles during Showcase Week.

Fradiani auditioned with his ex-girlfriend in New York City. He was the vocalist of Beach Avenue. The band won "Battle of the Bands' and auditioned for "America's Got Talent.' 22-year-old runner-up Clark Beckham was a street musician in Nashville, Texas. Beckham also competed in "Battle of the Bands.' He is also a worship leader. In an interview with the Christian Post, Beckham shared that he prayed about auditioning for "Idol' and plans on pursuing a career in Christian music.
