Saints Philip & James School in Phillipsburg recently held it’s National History Day Competition with 15 students (12 projects) advancing to the regional competition which will take place at Princeton University in March. Shannon Rutan and Stephanie Salmento students on the Notre Dame Speech and Debate team recently won a second place award in Novice Public Forum Debate at the Martin Luther King Open Tournament. Also representing Notre Dame was Kelsey Rosa in Oral Interpretation. Stephanie Salmento earned the Degree of Honor from the National Speech and Debate Association.
Bradlee Thrasher, a sophomore at Faith Christian School in Roseto, has been selected by the faculty to represent Faith Christian at the HOBY Leadership Seminar to be held in Philadelphia in late May. Each year Faith Christian selects one student to attend this event. The State Leadership Seminar which is designed to help high school sophomores recognize their leadership talents and apply them to become effective, ethical leaders in their home, school, workplace and community.
