ManTech Names Andrew Twomey Senior Vice President and General Manager of Its Army Business Unit


FAIRFAX, Va., Jan. 7, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ManTech International Corporation (Nasdaq:MANT) has named retired U.S. Army Brigadier General Andrew Twomey senior vice president and general manager of its Mission Solutions & Services (MSS) Group's Army business unit. Twomey will lead the execution of business strategy to expand and enhance capability offerings, with a focus on complex IT networks and systems, efficient and secure logistics and procurement solutions, and related training services.

Most recently, Twomey was chief operating officer of Phycal, Inc., a commercial venture advancing the production and sale of biofuel and renewable chemicals. Previously, Twomey was president of L-3 Communications, Global Security and Engineering Solutions, where he led a business division with over $300 million in annual sales, improving performance and expanding offerings to new domestic and international customers.

Before entering private industry, Twomey completed a distinguished Army career, retiring as a brigadier general. As a flag officer, he served as the deputy commanding general and chief of staff for the Combined Security Transition Command in Kabul, Afghanistan. In this role, he planned and directed the execution of security assistance programs to field a 162,000-member Afghan National Security Forces unit, with $7.8 billion in security assistance contract actions for equipment procurement, facilities, construction, training, and logistics services.

Twomey holds a bachelor's degree in engineering from the U.S. Military Academy, West Point, N.Y.; a master's degree in political science from the University of Chicago, Chicago, Ill.; and a master's degree in security studies from the National Defense University, Washington, D.C.
