BANGKOK, Thailand – Centara Hotels & Resorts celebrated the end of another successful year in the south of Thailand with a grand thank-you party for local travel agents at Centara Grand Beach Resort Phuket, held on Friday 12th December 2014. The evening’s theme was “jazz buzz night,” complete with mood music and decorations, and naturally a wonderful time was had by all.

Centara, which has recently added the Blue Marine Resort & Spa to its Phuket portfolio, now has eight properties on the island. Centara also now has two resorts in Krabi following the addition of Centara Pelican Bay Residence & Suites, scheduled for opening in March 2015. Additionally, the company has three properties on Koh Samui, one at Khao Lak, and a city hotel in the center of Hat Yai.

The Centara Grand Beach Resort Phuket is located on the sands of Karon Beach, and is built around a waterpark that features four separate swimming pools, including adult and children’s pools as well as an extensive water park complete with a “lazy river,” waterfalls, water slides and Jacuzzi.

This newly-built resort features 262 guestrooms and villas, with 129 Deluxe rooms, 63 Deluxe Spa rooms, 46 Deluxe Pool Suites, 14 Luxury Pool Suites, six One-Bed Pool Villas, three Two-Bed Pool Villas and one Royal Villa, all created in a style reminiscent of the Sino-Portuguese character of Phuket Town.

Besides accommodation for families, there are also rooms perfect for couples, including the 67-square meter Premium Deluxe Ocean Facing rooms and 49-square meter Spa Deluxe Ocean Facing rooms, both of which come with a romantic Jacuzzi on the balcony.

Leisure facilities at the resort include a tennis court, a fitness center, and Spa Cenvaree offering Vichy treatments, steam rooms, relaxation lounge, manicure and pedicure room, and 10 single and double treatment rooms. Children’s facilities include two playrooms; one for ages four to 10 years and one for 10 to 16 year-olds, and a playground.

There are many appealing dining options at the resort; The Cove is the all-day venue located on the beachfront, while Mare Italian Restaurant & Bar overlooks the beach and serves pasta and pizza during the day and classic Italian cuisine in the evenings. The Luna Chill-Out Bar & Lounge is located above Mare and features a large outdoor terrace with lounge-style seating, while The Beachcomber Beach Bar is situated on the beach. The Splash Pool Bar is a swim-up bar at the edge of the main pool, and the adults-only pool also offers swimmers refreshments from its own Ripple bar. The Lobby Lounge & Bar is in the hotel lobby, and in-room dining is available twenty-four hours a day.

Centara Grand Beach Resort Phuket is also fully equipped for meetings. The 576-square meter Phuket Grand Ballroom can seat 780 people theatre-style, and is divisible into two equal parts. There is a pre-function area of 240 square meters, and five breakout rooms; three on the ground floor and two more on the 1st floor.
