The papers: Saturday's front pages

Political commentator Jo Phillips and David Williamson, political editor at Media Wales, joined the BBC News Channel to review Saturday's papers.

They began by discussing the Guardian's coverage of David Cameron's speech on immigration, and the suggestion that German Chancellor Angela Merkel forced him into "retreat" on a plan to cap EU migrant numbers.

The pair then examined the Independent's front-page photograph, showing scuffles during "Black Friday" sales, and the Times's lead story quoting a private school head accusing affluent families of "neglect" by failing to pay their children enough attention.
