Zebra Technologies launches innovative new printing solutions designed to improve efficiency and patient safety in the Middle East healthcare sector

(MENAFNEditorial) Zebra Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ: ZBRA), a global leader in products and solutions that provide real-time visibility into healthcare organizations' patients, is launching new healthcare printers at Gitex 2014, adding to its comprehensive healthcare portfolio. Zebra is launching the first desktop printer designed to operate in sterile clinical environments and a new mobile printer for specimen collection that will help enhance patient safety in the region.

The company will also present its complete range of card, RFID, and barcode printers, plus consumables and services, with a focus on mobility, Cloud and the Internet Of Things – linking software, apps and smart devices - following the acquisition of Motorola Solutions in 2014. The combined organizations will offer integrated visibility and connectivity solutions for the retail, healthcare, manufacturing, and transportation and logistics industries.

Designed for use in sterile environments, the GK420TM Healthcare printer can withstand regular cleanings with disinfecting solutions and allows healthcare professionals to label medications and specimens before and during surgery in the operating room, making the process safer and more efficient. The multipurpose entry level printer solution with compact design and desktop convenience for direct thermal label printing, for organizations looking to automate processes from inventory to documentation and asset management.

The launch of the GK420â„¢ Healthcare desktop printer complements the full line-up of Zebra's healthcare printers that are disinfectant-ready; the GK420â„¢ Healthcare printer joins the recently launched QLn Healthcare Solutions Series and the HC100 wristband printer as part of an ongoing commitment to improve patient safety in healthcare operations.

The Qln 220H mobile printer is specifically designed for use in healthcare environments, lightweight and compact so they can be carried on a belt clip or easily stored on a hospital cart. The QLn Series Healthcare printers are part of a mobile specimen collection solution featuring the latest technology including Link-OS® environment-enabled making them easy to integrate, manage and maintain from a PC, smartphone or tablet-from anywhere around the globe.

"With the addition of the GK420TM Healthcare printer and Qln 220H mobile printer to our already robust portfolio of healthcare solutions, Zebra is well positioned to provide a higher level of patient safety and improved staff productivity," said Pratik Kajaria, Territory Manager, Middle East, Zebra Technologies Europe Limited. "Whether it's positively identifying patients, specimens, or medications, Zebra's solutions are specifically designed to optimize workflows and improve identification accuracy within healthcare environments."

The ENERGY STAR® certified printers were also designed with a medical-grade power supply certified to IEC 60601-1 standards, protecting patients and staff by reducing the risk of electrical shock and improving printer performance.

"Whether it's the lab, pharmacy, surgery center or patient beside, Zebra's healthcare solutions and expertise make Zebra a reliable and innovative partner for the industry," added Kajaria.

The new offers are an integral part of Zebra's philosophy, which turns physical assets, people and transactions, into digital information and creating a clearly visible picture of the location, condition, timing and accuracy of an organisation's operations, from multiple devices including mobile devices.
