Lafayette, LA  —The Cajundome along with Project Front Yard, Coca-Cola and Republic Services have partnered up to increase the recycling efforts at this year’s Cajun Heartland State Fair.

Visitors to this year’s fair will find recycling bins for cans and bottles next to every trash can for easy disposal. The recycling efforts are not just during the 11 fair days but start long before guests arrive.

“We find that majority of the trash comes from the fair move in and move out so having Republic Services provide recycling services during these peak times will help decrease the amount of landfill waste the fair creates.” says Heidi Champagne, Marketing Director for the Cajundome.

The Cajun Heartland State Fair opens to the public Thursday, May 21^st at 5:00pm and goes until Sunday May 31^st at 10pm.
