– The PPG Industries Foundation announced late this afternoon it recently provided a $10,000 grant to the U.S. Space & Rocket Center to fund scholarships for the space museum's Aviation Challenge programs.

The Pennsylvania-based coatings and specialty materials company's aerospace business has also donated paint coatings for the F-16 Red Tail aircraft, which commemorates Alabama's Tuskegee Airmen who served during World War II.

The $10,000 grant provided underserved students ages 9 to 18 the opportunity to attend Aviation Challenge, which teaches science, technology, engineering and math skills through aviation, water and land survival training.

The USSRC plans to host a dedication event Saturday at the Aviation Challenge facility to honor the Tuskegee Airmen and recognize PPG for its donation toward the Red Tail project. PPG will be the presenting sponsor of the ceremony.
