Manchester United's season may well have found the turning point to where they want to be. The Red Devils took advantage of Arsenal's shaky form in order to earn three points at Emirates Stadium, snapping the Gunners' undefeated streak playing in their grounds.
During the first half of the match, it seemed like a matter of time for Arsenal to score first, owning the best chances and dominating United for a good period of time. The Gunners' dependence of Alexis Sanchez backfired at them, since the Chilean played a quality match, but Manchester's improvised defense managed to control him.
After the first 45 minutes, the game continued down the same road, but the turning point came after 56 minutes, when Kieran Gibbs scored an own goal and clashed with his goalkeeper, injuring him and forcing Arsene Wenger to send Damian Martinez to defend the Gunners' net.
With Arsenal desperately looking to equalize the match, a quick counter by Angel Di Maria and Wayne Rooney finished with United's number 10 scoring the second goal of the evening for Louis Van Gaal's side. Olivier Giroud, who came back for Arsenal after coming down with an injury that left him out for two months, gave some hope for Arsenal's fans, scoring after four minutes of stoppage time. Arsenal tried, but Manchester United prevailed.
