Dive Insight:
Jeni's is another recall of an entire product inventory announced this week, as Blue Bell expanded its recall from some to all products earlier this week as well.
This abundance of caution will undoubtedly be very costly for Jeni's and Blue BEll, though the action is meant to protect consumers at all costs as well as save face amid a hurtful controversy. Listeria outbreaks appear to be more common as of late, so it will be interesting to see how Blue Bell and Jeni's, as well as other companies navigate recalls.
