J Sainsbury Plc is starting a service that allows customers to collect online grocery orders from stores -- more than three years later than its main competitors.

The offering will be available at 20 outlets by the end of March, the U.K.’s third-largest grocer said in a statement on its website Tuesday. It will be extended to 100 stores by the end of the year, meaning the service will be available at about 8 percent of the company’s U.K. supermarkets.
