PetSmart Inc. (PETM) reported third quarter adjusted EPS of $1.02 after the bell Tuesday, which topped the consensus estimate of $0.94. Fourth quarter adjusted EPS is expected to be between $1.34 and $1.38, compared to the consensus estimate of $1.37. Full year adjusted EPS is expected to be between $4.39 and $4.43, compared to the consensus estimate of $4.33.
PetSmart gapped open sharply higher Wednesday and climbed for the majority of the afternoon. The stock closed up by 4.57 at $78.19 on above average volume. PetSmart soared past resistance and set a new high for the year.
