The show must go on! Florence Welch delivers a seated gig at Radio 1's Big Weekend, weeks after breaking foot during energetic concert

The old entertainment maxim is that the show must go on.

And, clearly, that's something Florence Welch believes in - as she took to the stage for Radio 1's Big Weekend, despite suffering from a broken foot.

The flame-haired star delivered a seated show as she performed at Norwich on Saturday evening.

Determined not to miss her headline gig at the annual festival, the 28 year-old made a defiant gesture by fulfilling her promise to sing.

Carried on to the stage by a band-member, she took a seat on a stool at the centre of the stage.

Under the lights, Florence appeared to be good spirits as she belted out their chart-topping hits.

Wearing an all white ensemble, the Grammy nominated singer looked chic in a sheer blouse and a pair of trousers which featured fringed detailing.

Announcing the news of her mishap via her social media forums, last month, Welch admitted she was 'pretty devastated'.

She wrote: 'I'm so sorry to say, that after what was one of my favourite shows ever at Coachella, I have discovered I have broken my foot from leaping off the stage.

'Unfortunately while this heals, my performances will have to be somewhat stripped back.'

Florence continued in her note: 'I'm so sorry, I'm pretty devastated, but I still want to do the shows.

'I understand this is not what you were expecting, but I hope its just as enjoyable. I'm going to try and make it super special for you.'

Ending things on a positive, she added: 'By the time Glastonbury rolls around I should be back on my feet. This album was so much about making something from what was broken, so lets see what we can do with this.'
