WWE News: Did Vince McMahon Allow Brock Lesnar To Blade During His Match At ‘WrestleMania 31’?

At WrestleMania 31, we saw a main event that was relatively good. While most assumed it would be a stinker from beginning to end, the match saw great things from both Roman Reigns and then WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar. We knew going in that WWE would have to make it a brawl and let blood be involved. WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon believed the same thing needed to be seen, which is why we saw such.

In the match, Brock Lesnar was cut open the hard way early on. Both men were doing legit shots to the other, most likely to make it all look more realistic. Lesnar not only had a bruise and shiner going on his eye within the first minute of the match, but he was bleeding from the spot. At that point, we knew what to expect. It was hard fought, and both men got some really good shots in.

One spot in the match was in question however. Lesnar had Reigns on the outside of the ring and looked to throw him into the ring post. However, Reigns got he upper hand and threw Lesnar into the post causing The Beast Incarnate to bleed heavily. This type of blood was something you’d really only see when one “blades” or cuts themselves during a match to cause blood.

According to Daily Wrestling News, it appears that Vince McMahon did indeed allow Lesnar to blade.

It was tough to see when Lesnar did the action however, as he was not bleeding at all before he hit the post. He’d have to be Houdini to blade at the time he hit the post. However, we do know that earlier in the match it appeared on camera that the ref handed Reigns a blade as he was “checking on him.” This would have been given to Lesnar to use in the ring.

Interestingly, we all assumed Lesnar did cut himself. However, because the first shot of the match was a legit punch and cut on Lesnar….we didn’t know for sure that Lesnar didn’t really go ahead and hit his head on the post and get cut open. Of course, such an action doesn’t seem likely as he’d develop a bruise with that speed and type of hit, not bleed. So we can probably assume he cut himself a slight bit when off camera and then hit his head legitimately on the post where he cut himself to cause the blood to come.

While the first cut had a bruise and blood, the second shot that saw the blood flow like a river didn’t cause a bruise or even swelling. So we all had the idea that Lesnar did blade. Vince McMahon allowing such a thing is new. WWE had outlawed the use of cutting due to PG guidelines and safety. So now we must wonder if this will continue.
