Did a Tornado Touch Down in Peachtree Corners?

Gwinnett County was under a Tornado Warning Monday afternoon.

The severe weather that prompted a Tornado Warning in Gwinnett County knocked down wires and covered patches of ground with hail Monday afternoon.

But, so far, there have been no reports of a tornado touching down.

Gwinnett Fire Capt. Tommy Rutledge said in a 3:30 p.m. email that there had been no reports of structure damage or injuries in the county.

The heaviest weather passed to the north of Peachtree Corners, but an employee at Fiserv told Patch employees had gone to the company’s tornado shelter during the height of the storm.

Reports of pea-sized hail and wires down were reported in the Buford and Suwanee areas:

Firefighters responded at 2:52 p.m. to a report of wires down and a tree across the roadway on Moore Road, NW and Peachtree Industrial Boulevard in Suwanee.

Firefighters responded at 3:03 p.m. to a report of wires down and a tree down in the roadway on Ivy Creek Road, NE and Gravel Springs Road in Buford.
