The ARINC vMUSE system will enable the airports to support multiple airline check-in applications running concurrently on the same computer workstation, allowing the airport and airlines to reduce costs and increase flexibility while processing passengers faster and more efficiently.
LONDON – Rockwell Collins announced that Scotland’s Aberdeen International Airport, Glasgow Airport, and Edinburgh Airport have signed an agreement to install the company’s ARINC vMUSE Common Use Passenger Processing System (CUPPS) workstations throughout the airports.
The ARINC vMUSE system will enable Aberdeen International Airport to support multiple airline check-in applications running concurrently on the same computer workstation, allowing the airport and airlines to reduce costs and increase flexibility while processing passengers faster and more efficiently.
“This new system means that different airlines can use the same desks,” explained Andrew Mutch, Airport Head of IT. “It increases our flexibility and means that in a growing airport we can be much more reactive to demand than the previous system allowed for. As a result this will provide real benefits for our customer service provision, it will help to manage queues and deliver a more integrated product.”
Won in a highly competitive bidding process, this agreement is in addition to an award Rockwell Collins won earlier this year for ARINC AviNet Airport high-performance network services, as well as the installation and integration of common use self service (CUSS) kiosks at the airport.

The new agreement, won in a competitive bidding process, is the third contract Rockwell Collins has recently won at the facility. Glasgow Airport also awarded the company contracts for its ARINC AviNet Airport high-performance network services, as well as the installation and integration of common use self service (CUSS) kiosks.

The new contract extends the strong relationship between the Edinburgh Airport CUTE Club and Rockwell Collins, which have been working together since May 2005. With this award, Rockwell Collins’ ARINC solutions are now being used at three of Scotland’s major airports.
Edinburgh Airport is Scotland’s capital airport. The airport, which is undergoing rapid expansion, recently became the first in the country to exceed the 10 million yearly passenger mark, and has enjoyed its most successful year on record with the launch of a number of new long- and short-haul routes in 2014.
