Decline Expected for First Horizon National Earnings

Analysts expect decreased profit for First Horizon National when the company reports its fourth quarter results on Friday, January 23, 2015. Although First Horizon reported profit of 21 cents a year ago, the consensus estimate calls for earnings per share of 17 cents.

Over the past three months, the consensus estimate has sagged from 18 cents. For the fiscal year, analysts are expecting earnings of 88 cents per share. After being $314.1 million a year ago, analysts project revenue to drop 10% year-over-year to $281.6 million for the quarter. For the year, revenue is projected to come in at $1.16 billion.

Over the last four quarters, revenue has fallen an average of 4% year-over-year. The biggest drop came in the fourth quarter, when revenue fell 8% from the year-earlier quarter.
