2014: Year of Significant Growth for Catchpoint Systems

Catchpoint Systems, Inc., a provider of innovative web and infrastructure performance monitoring solutions, had a stellar year of growth in 2014, with revenue doubling from the prior year.

Catchpoint welcomed over 125 new customers in 2014, including major brands Comcast, Hearst Corporation, Kate Spade New York, LinkedIn and XO Group Inc., adding to existing client companies ranging from startups to Fortune 1000-level names such as Edgecast Networks, Overstock, Priceline and TripAdvisor.

Catchpoint also added new offices in Seattle, London and Bangalore, in a year it grew its stable of performance monitoring nodes to 381 backbone, last mile, and wireless locations worldwide. It also relocated its New York City headquarters and Boston office to new, more spacious locations in those cities, in preparation for further growth in 2015. The company also grew its employee head count to 101 by year’s end, from 39 at the end of 2013.

“Over the past year, Catchpoint has continued to establish itself as a prominent and highly innovative player in the web performance industry,” said Neeraj Agrawal, general partner at Battery Ventures, a Catchpoint board member and investor. “The company is excelling in product development, customer service, and other areas, and we can’t wait to see where they go from here.”

“We attribute our success to staying focused on today’s market needs,” says Mehdi Daoudi, CEO and co-founder of Catchpoint Systems. “This includes blending synthetic and real-user (passive) monitoring, reducing the number of false positives, highlighting the performance of third-party hosts, and providing real answers from our analytics, not just more data. The bottom line: our customers spend less and utilize fewer internal resources to achieve the end-result of optimal performance.”

In addition to improving its global monitoring coverage through its node growth, Catchpoint made significant enhancements to its product features in 2014. These include customizable dashboards and new charting capabilities, including CDF graphs, historical comparisons and error analysis, all of which combine with existing features to give users more insight into the many aspects of web performance than any other tool in the industry.

Catchpoint’s growth and industry traction were recently recognized when Symmetry50 named the company to its list of extraordinary Manhattan-based startups.

"XO Group recently launched new, responsive mobile-first sites for The Knot and The Bump and it was crucial that we provide the best user experience for our couples who are planning their wedding or having a baby," explained Irina Krechmer, VP of Engineering, XO Group. "Catchpoint has proven to be a great tool to stay on top of load times for our sites and allow us to zero in and troubleshoot any performance issues very quickly. Their customer support team has been a great partner to us from the initial engagement through the implementation process."
