Select Comfort Corp. (SCSS) reported third quarter EPS of $0.44 after the bell Wednesday, up from $0.36 last year. Analysts expected EPS of $0.40. The company also raised its full-year 2014 earnings outlook to $1.12 per share from its prior outlook of $1.07 per share. Analysts currently expect the company to earn $1.10 per share.
Select Comfort gapped open dramatically higher Thursday and took out the session highs around mid-morning. Shares finished up by 3.50 at $25.08, with volume at a 7-month high. The stock surged past resistance and set a new high for the year.
