Fancy clicking selfie with a Tyrannosaur or witness the replica of 'Walden Pond', made famous by literary works of Henry David Thoreau, Sri Venkateswara University's (SVU) Open House Exhibition-2015 is the place to be.

Spread across spacious premises of the varsity, the three-day exhibition has united its various branches and brought their specialities under one roof, offering a field day for students and general public alike. The event inaugurated during the National Science Day (February 28) has been drawing steady crowd of visitors, who have thronged to witness various models put forward by departments functioning under the university.

Highlighting the ongoing research activities in their respective departments through innovative exhibits and working models, the faculty and students have put the best foot forward in explaining the concepts to the visitors. Grid Computing and Wired Networks (Computer Science), Universal Milling Machine and Clap-based Switches (Instrumentation), Works of Shakespeare and Indian English Authors (English), Model Hatcheries and Aqua Farms (Fishery Science and Aquaculture), Natural Disasters, Coins and Fossil Museum (Geology), Folk Arts and Farmers Implements (Telugu) are some of the numerous exhibits which have caught the visitors eye.

SVU Vice-Chancellor W. Rajendra, who viewed the exhibits here on Monday, said that such events would help the students in improving their knowledge base in various fields and be aware of the latest developments.

Besides the regular exhibits, visitors had an opportunity to take part in the basic self-defence training classes, mainly the girl students, at the Open House Karate Programme. Buoyed by the success of the event, the management has decided to extend the schedule for another day till March 3 (Tuesday).

The exhibition has been extended till Tuesday
