Men's Wearhouse has named Mary Beth Blake, a former Famous-Barr executive in St. Louis, its new president and chief merchandising officer.Â
The appointment was effective Sept. 10, but only announced Tuesday.Â
Blake previously was executive vice president and chief merchandising officer. The Fremont, Calif.-based Men's Warehouse men's apparel chain has 1,756 stores. Â
Blake joined the company in 2008 as chief merchandising officer of K&G Fashion Superstore, a Men's Wearhouse subsidiary.Â
"Mary Beth has been an integral part of our management team since 2008 and has spent her entire career developing creative initiatives to drive sales, expand gross margins and build successful teams,"Â CEO Doug Ewert said in a statement.Â
Prior to joining the company, Blake was a senior vice president and general merchandise manager at Macy's Midwest Division. Blake began her career in 1989 with May's Famous-Barr division in St. Louis and was later named senior vice president and general merchandise manager.Â
