NBA 3-Point Contest 2015: Date, Updates on Rumored Participants, More

The NBA has reportedly scored a dream lineup for this year's three-point competition. The lineup will reportedly feature Klay Thompson, Stephen Curry, Kyle Korver, Wes Matthews, J.J. Redick and James Harden.

James Harden Will be Added to Contest

Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reported Harden will be added to the field:

Rockets guard James Harden will be officially named to the field for the Foot Locker Three-Point contest tonight, according to two individuals that had been told that Harden would be invited.

Harden said recently that he would like to participate in the event Feb. 14 in Barclays Center, but added, “I have to start shooting better.” Harden, the Western Conference Player of the Month for December and January, has done that, making 47 percent of his 3s in his past 10 games.

Dream Lineup Assembled for Initial 3-Point Contest Lineup

According to Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski, the event, which will take place on Saturday, Feb. 14, is going to feature Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Kyle Korver, Wes Matthews and J.J. Redick. Curry and Korver were reported as participants last week. 

It's an unreal collection. 

Korver, one of the most efficient long-range shooters in NBA history, is knocking down 3.1 threes per game at an absurd 53.1 percent clip. If he shoots the same percentage as he does in live games, he's good for a round of at least 13, which is pretty solid. 

Curry, arguably the front-runner for the 2014-15 MVP, is in range as soon as he steps inside the building. He has yet to win in three previous attempts, but he clearly doesn't lack a competitive fire, via the San Francisco Chronicle's Rusty Simmons:

Thompson, his Golden State Warriors teammate, won't be far removed from what was probably the greatest individual quarter in NBA history, when he knocked down nine consecutive threes for 37 points in 12 minutes. 

Matthews is quietly knocking down 3.1 treys per game, while Redick is hitting a career-high 44.1 percent of his attempts. The latter talked about the opportunity, via ESPN.com's Arash Markazi:

Among qualified players, Thompson, Korver, Matthews, Curry and Redick are Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4 and 7 in the NBA in three-pointers made per game. Three of them are doing it at better than 44.0 percent, while the other two are hovering right around 40 percent. 

These boys can all flat-out shoot, and there's a good chance at least a couple of them put on a scintillating performance.
