Black Hawks Reveal Special Jerseys at Jameson's Tuesday

Waterloo, Iowa-The beginning of March is immanently approaching, and the Waterloo Black Hawks are jump-starting St. Patrick's Day festivities on Tuesday at Jameson's Public House in downtown Waterloo with the unveiling of Irish-themed jerseys which will be worn later in the month, presented by Tyson Fresh Meats.
Fans and media are invited to Jameson's to see the Irish-themed threads and meet Black Hawks players from 5-7 p.m. Members of the team will be available for photos and autographs. At the beginning of the evening, media will able be able to speak with representatives of the Northeast Iowa Food Bank - who will receive profits from the jerseys when auctioned - and Tyson Fresh Meats.
"We're really trying to capture the spirit of the holiday. Tyson's support of jersey's like these which have benefitted the Northeast Iowa Food Bank in previous years has been a partnership we are proud of, and what better place to show off St. Patrick's Day jerseys than Jameson's," said Waterloo Black Hawks Vice President Mike Falk.
Fans in attendance will be able to take home a free Black Hawks/Jameson's pint glass, featuring the team's vintage logo which originated with the founding of the club in the 1960's. For those aged 21 and over, there will also be a $2 special on tallboys. Jameson's is located at 310 East 4th Street.
A subsidiary of Tyson Foods, Inc., Tyson Fresh Meats is a major employer in the Cedar Valley. Last season, a series of Tyson-sponsored Valentine's Day Black Hawks jerseys raised $7,435 for the Northeast Iowa Food Bank, an organization founded in Waterloo more than 30 years ago which serves individuals and non-profit groups over a 16-county area.
Look for the St. Patrick's Day jerseys during games at Young Arena on Friday, March 13th against the Dubuque Fighting Saints and Sunday, March 15th versus the Sioux Falls Stampede. An auction of the sweaters will take place at the conclusion of the March 15th matchup.
