Art + Issues: Love of self, Love shared, Love open to all will be on Thursday form 6-7 p.m. at the Hunter Museum.
Review for the program:
Throughout American history, women’s bodies have been models for love but also models for societal control. And in today’s climate, the battle is increasingly heated on everything from women’s health choices to women’s choices of partners.
Katie Garcia, East Tennessee field organizer of Healthy and Free Tennessee will explore a 19th century sculpture and the story of Ruth and Naomi as a way to discuss views throughout American history and how it plays out on front page news stories today.
Free and open to the public.
