More than 100 food and beverage samples from 35 different exhibitors will be available during the annual Taste of the Southside. The one-day epicurean event, and Southside’s largest and longest running tasting event, will be held on Feb. 22 at the Valle Vista Golf Club and Conference Center from 4:30 – 7 p.m.

Participating exhibitors include: A Piece of Cake; Applebee’s Neighborhood Bar & Grill; Aqua Systems; Arni’s Restaurant; Baskin Robbins; Bubba’s 33; City BBQ; Easley Winery; Ella’s Frozen Yogurt & More; Fireside Brewhouse; Hal’s Fabulous Vegas; Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches; Jockamo Upper Crust Pizza; Johnny Carino’s; Mallow Run Winery; MashCraft Brewing Company; Max & Erma’s; Moe’s Southwest Grill; Mucky Duck Pub; Nameless Catering; Oliver Winery; Pinocchio’s Original Italian Ice Cream; Planetary Brewing Company; Soft Serve Equipment Sales of Indiana; Stacked Pickle; Stone Creek Dining Company; Taxman Brewing Company; Texas Roadhouse; Zoey’s Pizzeria and more.

“The Taste of the Southside allows us to showcase a sample of the many restaurants, breweries, caterers and bakeries on the southside,” said Christian Maslowski, president and CEO of the Greater Greenwood Chamber. “We continue to see the food and beverage on the Southside grow and want to allow guests to literally experience a taste all under one roof.”

The event will feature the annual Chef Challenge Competition sponsored by Meijer, Inc., where Chef Richard Goss from Richard’s Brick Oven Pizza will be back to defend his title against two other competitors. Three competing chefs will be given mystery ingredients and must show their culinary skills by creating dishes for the panel of judges.

For a second year, the Mixology Competition returns. Three local bartenders will create cocktails based on specific liquor brands and a panel of judges will name the winner.

Guests also have the opportunity to participate in a wine pull and a silent auction featuring sports memorabilia, wine baskets, restaurant gift cards and getaway packages.

Each ticket holder can sample from all vendors without buying additional food or beverage tickets. Advance tickets are $40 each and allow guests a 30-minute early entrance. General admission tickets are $35. Attendees will also enjoy live music and entertainment.
