Asure introduces new biometric workforce management solution with dual authentication

Asure Software announced it has launched AsureForce AirClock, a biometric, wall-mounted time collection panel that features dual authentication – using manual PIN entry and facial recognition technology — to collect punches.

AsureForce AirClock incorporates facial recognition technology that provides the highest level of security against buddy punching to reduce time fraud, and its cloud-based software enables the devices to be used from almost any location, anywhere with an Internet connection,” said Asure COO Steven Rodriguez. “Once users register, they can punch in from any device in their organization’s system, regardless of location.”

The way AsureForce AirClock works is that registered users “punch in” by entering their PIN, then stand in front of the camera so that the device can capture an image of them.

Asure’s device then compares the image to biometric templates in the system, and if they match, the punch is recorded.

However, if the images fail to match, the device sends the user a message asking to confirm whether they are, in fact, the user assigned to the PIN they entered.

If they confirm, the punch is processed and the device notifies the user’s supervisor via email that someone punched without full biometric authentication. The supervisor then has the final word on approving or denying the punch.
