Brewfest returns to Centene Stadium on June 4 in Great Falls

Brewfest at the Ballpark returns to Centene Stadium on Thursday, June 4, with three rock bands and microbrews from five local breweries.

The event was last held in 2012.

Gates open at 5 p.m.; music starts at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 and all seating is general admission. Purchase advance tickets at www.gfvoyagers.com, 452-5311, or the Voyagers offices in Centene Stadium. Bottomless beer mugs are $25; individual drink tickets also are available.

The Seattle AC/DC tribute act Hell’s Belles headlines the event. Supporting acts are Metal Steel from Great Falls and Mabel’s Rage from Helena.

Formed in 2000, Hell’s Belles is an all-female group featuring Amber Saxon on lead vocals, Adrian Conner on guitar, Sharon Needles on rhythm guitar and backing vocals, Mandy Reed on bass and backing vocals and Laura Derig on drums. Billing themselves as the “ultimate ’80s hair metal tribute band,” Metal Steel features Simon Tew on lead vocals, Michael Gunner on lead guitar and vocals, Clint Reimann on lead guitar and vocals, Bobby Wright on bass and vocals, and Jim Devine on drums and vocals. Mabel’s Rage performs original and cover rock by members Gina Satterfield on lead vocals, Bud Clarke on guitar and vocals, John B. Ross on bass, and Chris Brady on drums.

Brewfest at the Ballpark bands perform on a stage over second base with standing room on the infield and seating in the stadium stands. Local breweries participating include Mighty Mo Brewing, Bowser Brewing, The Front Brewing, Harvest Moon Brewery, and Black Eagle Brewing Co.

Live music at Club Cigar May 27

Live music resurfaces at the Club Cigar on Wednesday, May 27 with a three-band rock show organized by Jonny Ravenscroft. Music kicks off at 9 p.m.; admission is free.

The Missoula group FUULS (pronounced “fools”) headlines the show. Members are Tom Cornelius on guitar and lead vocals, Rob Cave on bass, and Aaron Soria on drums; all have Great Falls roots. The band cites inspiration from The Hive, The Vines and The White Stripes. FUULS is now promoting the soft release of their debut album “Age of Anxiety.”

Piranha Dog from Great Falls opens the event. With Cory Allian on vocals and guitar, Stuart Corey on bass, and Josh Wilkenson on drums, the band performs a blend of metal, psychedelic rock, blues rock, acid rock, and doom metal.

Couches from San Francisco is second on stage. The band includes David Mitchell on guitar and vocals, Chris Griley on bass, and T.J. Martin-Lokey on drums. Couches describes its style as “slacker indie rock meets soft grunge.” The group’s latest release on the 20 Sided Records label is “Slackin’ Since the ’80s.”

Rob Quist and Great Northern at The History Museum May 30

The History Museum’s Ozark room comes alive once again on Saturday, May 30, with Rob Quist and Great Northern featuring Halladay Quist. The show, a fundraiser for the museum, runs 7 to 10 p.m.

Tickets are $30 for non-museum members or $25 for members. Tickets can be purchased at The History Museum, Kaufmans Menswear, or by calling 452-3462. Wine, beer and barbecue sandwiches will be available.

Cut Bank native Rob Quist is best known as a founding member of the celebrated Montana group Mission Mountain Wood Band. He has released eight albums, and his songs have been recorded by national acts such as Michael Martin Murphy and Loretta Lynn.

Halladay, Rob’s daughter, appears at the History Museum show with Tim Ryan on acoustic and electric guitars, David Griffith on multiple instruments, and John Caberly on drums.
