CLEVELAND – The 30th annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony set up is underway right now at Public Hall.
Thursday, crews with HBO Productions set the stage for the Induction Ceremony on Saturday.
“This is where the magic happens. Multiple cameras are being set up for the HBO broadcast. Audio mixers are being tested in the hall so it sounds terrific. All these riggers behind me are hanging lights,” said Greg Harris, President and CEO of the Rock Hall.
Crews hit the ground Monday morning and have worked non-stop to get the stage ready for one of the biggest nights in music.
“To make this happen its hundreds of people for installation,” said Harris.
Harris says it actually takes thousands of people overall to put on an event like this.
“We have over 100 volunteers for the museum alone. Plus our own staff, our own crew we use to put this together. We also have the help from the hotels and hospitality,” said Harris.
Tickets to the show and the simulcast at the Rock Hall sold out instantly.
“When you think about this. In 1964 the Beatles first American tour, Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney performed on this very stage. They are back together again 51 years later standing on that same exact stage. Stevie Ray Vaughn played here, the “5” Royales played here, it is a perfect place to celebrate the history of rock of roll and honor these honorees,” said Harris.
