Best Bet: Hackleton, Race 5 (13-4-4-1 $15.10) Longshot: Karma Police, Race 6 (15-3-0-3 $69.70) RACE 1: COOL AND QUIET gets the nod because none of the firsters stir any echoes. The gelding showed high speed on a closer-friendly racetrack in his December 15 unveiling. Switches to Junior. I’M STOKED has the best combination of nature and nurture among the firsters. Owner/breeders Chester and Mary Broman produce good horses and Mike Hushion can have the good ones ready. DANCETERIA has a premier New York-bred debut sire in City Zip, who hits at a 16 percent clip with all firsters. The works look fine and Linda Rice reaches back for Cornelio Velasquez. 1.Cool and Quiet, 2.I’m Stoked, 3.Danceteria RACE 2: LATE STARTER returned to dirt December 14 for the first time in more than a year. The result was a jogburger for the Rick Dutrow trainee. This is tougher but current form rules at Aqueduct. PLEASANT PRINCE has a class edge on dirt versus these four. The one-time stakes-winner neglected to win in 2012 but was facing far tougher than these. Logical. CITIZEN WELLS is a lightly-raced four-year-old with tons of room to improve. The key to his chances may be if any rain has fallen and made the track wet. He should love it. 1.Late Starter, 2.Pleasant Prince, 3.Citizen Wells RACE 3: EL OH EL has a top debut sire in Speightstown, a one-time champion sprinter. The colt has a December 20 company work with Sweet Sway, who romped a few days later. BEELINER has been third in two starts at the maiden special weights level, the latter over this track and distance. Chased a 1-5 favorite that day, costing him the place. DETERRENT drops into a maiden claimer for the first time. The Mark Hennig trainee has shown speed in two route starts. Adds blinkers and gets in light with the seven-pound bug. 1.El Oh El, 2.Beeliner, 3.Deterrent RACE 4: LONE STAR GOLD has been away since a trouble-marred outing last May. That was his first start in a maiden claimer. Has trained steadily, suggesting he is fit enough for these. DRY HUMOR is more nurture than nature. His sire is not known for debut winners. However, trainer Eric Reed has 7 winners from 24 starters unveiled at the maiden claiming level. WINNING PAL raced against the grain of an iron speed/rail bias December 26. The Linda Rice trainee should be fitter second back from a freshening. SUILLEABHAIN set the pace December 26 and collected a check. 1.Lone Star Gold, 2.Dry Humor, 3.Winning Pal, 4.Suilleabhain RACE 5: HACKLETON dropped into a maiden claimer and tried dirt for the first time November 28. He was haltered that day by the high profile team of Maggi Moss and Steve Asmussen. Meets weaker. SUPERIORITY chased the pace while racing against the grain of the speed/rail bias December 26. Got involved in a fast pace last week and did everything but win. ONEWILDRIVER finished ahead of Superiority when they met December 26 but did have the advantage of racing on the rail. Nevertheless, he might be able to pick up a piece here. 1.Hackleton, 2.Superiority, 3.Onewildriver RACE 6: SUPERSTITIOUS LOVE is logical off her last two starts at a similar class level, which produced a win and sharp second. Cuts back and should cycle back to a top effort. SKIDDLES N’ BOB is one of a couple of entrants that fit the date condition well, having last won on June 30, eleven days before the cut-off. Has speed and gets a live bug. SUMMER FLICK exits the same race as the second choice. In that event she raced evenly behind the first and third finishers. Her morning line would be an overlay. KARMA POLICE is a player if you can find an excuse for her last. 1.Superstitious Love, 2.Skiddles N’ Bob, 3.Summer Flick, 4.Karma Police RACE 7: UNTAPPED SECRET gets tested for class facing this level for the first time. Both her Finger Lakes victories came wire-to-wire and she may be able to do that again here. TRUE FORTUNE broke her maiden at Saratoga, setting the pace when the fractions came up slow. She was benched after that, returning in November with two similar efforts. KEEP BUSTIN broke her maiden at first asking, overcoming a moderate pace to do so. She didn’t earn a fast figure but has lots of room to improve for top connections. 1.Untapped Secret, 2.True Fortune, 3.Keep Bustin RACE 8: FORTITUDE takes a subtle drop in class from a level two allowance back to a condition and distance he won last year over this track. Blinkers come off and Dominguez gets on. WARRIOR UP has been racing consistently since switching to dirt. He also showed more tactical speed in his New Year’s Even race over the track. However, he has neglected to win on dirt. SNAP CALL was running well at Finger Lakes, then shipped in for a December 15 race here where he finished an even third behind Warrior Up. Deserves one more chance. 1.Fortitude, 2.Warrior Up, 3.Snap Call RACE 9: MOLLIE’S PRIZE came to hand after shipping North. She has reeled off three straight victories, albeit versus moderate competition at Finger Lakes. Nevertheless, the others don’t scare anyone. I DREAMT I WAS came off a two-month layoff and returned to dirt in December. The Steve Asmussen-trained mare got no help from a sundial pace. Reunites with Dominguez. VICTORYAT LAST is a four-time winner. However, the most recent was almost a year ago. She stretched out to this distance last time and picked up a runner-up check. MY UNBRIDLED STORM adds blinkers. A small check is possible. 1.Mollie’s Prize, 2.I Dreamt I Was, 3.Victoryat Last,

4.My
