Narendra Modi’s Kashmir visit: Highs and lows

Shops and businesses were closed in Kashmir because of the protest by separatist groups against the visit by Narendra Modi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday and spent his Diwali with victims of the recent floods which left thousands homeless. Modi also met soldiers at the Siachen Glacier.

Amidst polling in the state in the phase 2 of the Lok Sabha elections, Karnataka's Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Friday said a case has been booked against BJP’s sitting MP and Bangalore South candidate Tejasvi Surya for “posting a video in X (formerly Twitter) handle and soliciting votes on the ground of religion.”
