1. IPL 2016 Auction: Watson becomes top pick, Pawan Negi pulls off surprise as costliest Indian

2. SIT must probe all government land allotments under Narendra Modi as CM: Congress

Seeking to corner Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the Gujarat land deal issue, Congress on Saturday scaled up its demand for an SIT probe monitored by the Supreme Court, saying it should go into all allotments of government land when he was the state Chief Minister.

"The Special Investigative Team monitored by the Supreme Court should cover all the allotments and grants of public land when Anandiben Patel was the Revenue Minister and Modi was the Chief Minister," party's senior spokesman Anand Sharma told reporters. Read more here 

 


3. Magazine row: Congress accepts Sanjay Nirupam apology, asks him to be careful

Mumbai Congress chief Sanjay Nirupam has got a reprieve with the party accepting his apology over the publication of controversial articles slamming Jawaharlal Nehru and terming Sonia Gandhi's father a "fascist soldier" and asking him "to be careful in the future".

"Sanjay Nirupam accepted the responsibility for publication of grossly inaccurate, baseless and malicious article against the Congress leadership in the party magazine -- 'Congress Darshan' -- and submitted his unconditional apology for the same. Read more here

 

4. Taiwan quake kills at least 11, fells apartment block

A powerful earthquake struck Taiwan early on Saturday killing at least 11 people, most in a 17-storey apartment building that collapsed, with five people still missing in the ruins of the complex as darkness fell.

As rescuers searched for survivors, questions were raised about the construction of the Wei-guan Golden Dragon Buildingin the southern city of Tainan, with its floors that pancaked down on each other when the 6.4 magnitude tremor hit at around 4 a.m. (2000 GMT), at the start of a Lunar New Year holiday. 5. Rishabh Pant powers India U-19 to semi-finals on his IPL 'Pay Day'

It was a day of double delight for young Rishabh Pant as he guided the India colts to the semi-final of the ICC U-19 World Cup here with a crushing 197-run win over Namibia besides fetching Rs 1.9 crore IPL deal with the Delhi Daredevils.

Left-handed Pant propelled India to 349 for 6 with a pulsating 111 off 96 balls with other contributions coming from Anmolpreet Singh (41), Sarfaraz Khan (76) and Armaan Jaffer (64). Read more here
