Fifty-one-year-old man died in Algonquin Park crash involving bus

A 51-year-old man died at the scene and another three were injured in an Algonquin Park accident on Saturday involving a passenger vehicle and a bus, the Ontario Provincial Police stated in a news release.

OPP officers responded to the accident on Highway 60 near Tea Lake Campground at about 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Police said Sunday that Jing XU of Richmond Hill, Ont., was killed in the collision while three passengers in the SUV he was driving were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The 61-year-old driver of the bus was also taken to hospital with injuries while the 53 passengers in that vehicle were uninjured, and were taken from the scene by another bus.

Police said the eastbound SUV had pulled onto the shoulder of the road and turned left across the path of an eastbound motor coach bus.

Tea Lake Campground is located 291 kilometres west of Ottawa.
