As we try to eke out the last ounces of fun from the last desperate days of summer, despite the late Labour Day throwing everything off, there are musical gems to be experienced at Ottawa venues.

First, talented, multi-instrumentalist Spencer Krug is on tour as Moonface, in town Thursday ahead of the release of his latest EP, City Wrecker, which he insists is not only the “aesthetic opposite” to Miley Cyrus’ infamous Wrecking Ball, but was also written before the infamous song was released, 9 p.m., Pressed, 750 Gladstone Ave. Tickets: $12.50. spectrasonic.com
