A dozy teenage drug dealer told an undercover police officer he thought she was a "f***ing copper" but sold her Class A drugs anyway - TWICE.

The 17-year-old was snared as a "commercial-scale" drugs ring was smashed by police who raided safe houses and went undercover as addicts.

In another extraordinary part of the investigation, gang boss Stuart Walsh travelled to his amphetamines safe house just moments after answering bail at a police station on an unrelated case.

Shortly afterwards police raided the Maismore Road, Wythenshawe , flat, which belonged to Walsh’s trusted lieutenant Christopher Swaine, and found import quality cocaine, heroin and amphetamines worth £30,000.

A Manchester Crown Court sentencing hearing was told that Walsh was the main player in a conspiracy to supply amphetamines on a "commercial scale" in south Manchester , and that his underlings in the plot were also involved in the sale of cannabis, heroin and crack cocaine, independently of him, the Manchester Evening News reported .

Another property at Cotefield Road, Wythenshawe - the home of Steven Anderson - was used as a safehouse for cannabis.

One of Walsh amphetamines’ dealers, Daniel Whelan, was arrested at that address in possession of street deals of cocaine and heroin.

Another one of Walsh’s amphetamines’ dealers - a 17-year-old youth - had a sideline dealing heroin and crack in Adswood, Stockport . He was caught after two officers pretended to be Class A users called ‘Kieran’ and ‘Amanda’.

The first time the teenage dealer met Amanda he said to her ‘you’re a f***ing copper you aren’t you’, but he ignored his initial suspicions and sold her two wraps of heroin anyway.

Days later, he told ‘Amanda’, "I’m covering my face cos’ I think you’re a copper" - but he still sold her heroin and crack cocaine.

Stuart Walsh has been jailed

Now Walsh, 35, of of Penrith Avenue, Ashton-under-Lyne , has been jailed for eight years after pleading guilty to conspiracy to supply amphetamine.

Christopher Swaine, 34, of Maismore Road, Wythenshawe and Daniel Whelan, 20, of Briardene Gardens, Wythenshawe, were both sentenced to 42 months after pleading guilty to conspiracy to supply amphetamine, cocaine and heroin.

The 17-year-old was also sentenced to a two year detention training order for his role in the gang.

Steven Anderson

Steven Anderson, 33, of Cotefield Road, Woodhouse Park pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply cannabis at an earlier hearing and was sentenced to 12 months in prison.

Detective Inspector Anthony Norman said: “I hope today’s sentences show that we will relentlessly pursue the drug dealers who are damaging the lives of ordinary people within South Manchester and beyond.

“Drugs and organised crime cause devastating harm to local communities and I would like to thank the people who have supported us and given us information, as you have helped to put these drug dealers behind bars.

“We will not stop until we dismantle organised crime groups piece by piece, seize their assets and take them off our streets.”
