GURGAON: Taking a lesson from the paralysing traffic snarl triggered by rains in Gurgaon, the city police have finally chalked out a fool-proof plan to avert a rerun of the situation during the ongoing monsoon.
Meanwhile, according to reports, the city has started to limp back to normalcy on Saturday.
Commissioner of Police Navdeep Singh Virk said about 14 crucial points have been chosen mainly on the NH8 and NH248A and round-the-clock forces have been deployed.

"At each point, inspector-rank officers have been deputed along with police personnel," he added.
Duty has been divided in two shifts. "Day shift will be from 8 am to 8 pm and night shift will be from 8 pm to 8 am. These duties will continue till further orders," he added.
The 14 crucial points shared by Gurgaon CP Navdeep Singh Virk are Hero Honda Chowk, Rajiv Chowk, Jharsa Chowk, Signature Tower Chowk, IFFCO Chowk, Shankar Chowk, Subhash Chowk, Golf Course Extention Rd intersection on Sohna Road, Main Chowk in Sohna, Maharana Pratap Chowk, Atul Kataria Chowk, IMT Manesar Chowk, HUDA City Center Station and its vicinity in all directions, and Sec 31 Redlight and its vicinity in all directions

Work to remove potholes has begun at the Hero Honda Chowk, which witnessed its worst-ever traffic jam on July 28-29 as thousands of motorists were stuck on this stretch of the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway for more than 12 hours.
The unprecedented jam, triggered due to heavy rain on Thursday evening and the breach of the Badshahpur drain, brought the city to a standstill on Friday morning. With their employees stuck in traffic, Gurgaon offices registered a major hit in attendance and productivity.
