A 68-year-old man was in critical condition Tuesday after a collision between a bicycle and an SUV near the intersection of Ogilvie and Cyrville roads.

Police said a call came in at around 9:50 a.m. reporting the collision. Emergency responders found the man unconscious and in serious condition. Paramedics said he had not regained consciousness by the time he arrived at hospital.

A witness said the victim came out of a nearby townhouse complex at Murdock Gate and Ogilvie and was riding not in the bike lane but between the left and right lanes while carrying an extra bicycle wheel. The witness said he lost control of the bike and hit the passenger side of a black Acura SUV.
