NEW DELHI: The mystery surrounding the murder of Sheena Bora took a new turn with a media report claiming her brother Mikhail Bora operated her social media accounts, sent her resignation letter, and cancelled her rented flat's lease well after her death.
Telegraph quoting an unnamed relative from "Sheena's mother side" has reported on Friday that Mikhail did this at his mother Indrani Mukerjea’s behest. Indrani, her driver, and her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna have been arrested for Sheena’s murder. Mumbai Police commissioner Rakesh Maria on Friday said Khanna has confessed to be a partner to the crime.

The police had earlier claimed that the resignation letter was written by a woman, who was apparently an employee of Indrani Mukerjea — wife of TV honcho Peter Mukerjea.
Telegraph also reported that a senior police officer has corroborated the claims made by the relative.
"Not just the letter of resignation, Mikhail also sent a letter to Sheena's landlord in Mumbai in July 2012, cancelling the lease of the rental apartment. He posted a picture of his mother Indrani on Sheena’s Facebook page on February 11, 2014. Sheena's LinkedIn profile was kept in operation by Mikhail till two weeks ago," Telegraph reported quoting the police officer.
Quoting the officer, Telegraph further reported Mikhail had said he knew Sheena's social media and other internet account passwords as "they trusted each other completely".

Telegraph quoting Sheena's relative also reported that Indrani threatened Mikhail and said she would stop sending him pocket money if he didn’t do as he was told by her. She also promised him a “large sum of money” if she followed her instructions to (cover up Sheena's murder).
When TOI reporters tried to confirm this from Mumbai Police, they denied it and said they were checking whether Mikhail himself had sent the resignation letter or someone else sent it using Mikhail’s account.
Interestingly, Mikhail on Friday made some sensational revelations to Mumbai Police. He claimed Indrani had tried to kill him on the same day — April 24, 2012 — that she murdered Sheena. She had called him to her Mumbai home and spiked his drink, but he fled just in time.
He told police on Friday that a few days before Sheena went missing, Indrani had called him to Mumbai and on April 24, 2012. He said Indrani called him to her flat in Marlow building in Worli. He said Peter, former CEO of Star India and promoter of INX Media, was then holidaying abroad.
Mikhail, who arrived from Guwahati along with a Mumbai Police team on Friday, had been claiming for the past three days that he had material evidence against Indrani. After quizzing him, police had jointly interrogated the three accused — Indrani, her driver and Sanjeev Khanna — in Mikhail’s presence.
Commissioner Maria told reporters that the police are verifying the claims made by Mikhail and the probe is going on.
