Johnny Manziel's ex-girlfriend says in an affidavit that he hit her so hard during a late-night confrontation that she lost hearing in one ear.
Colleen Crowley's affidavit was obtained by KXAS-TV and published online Monday. Crowley suffered a ruptured eardrum, which is expected to eventually heal, Crowley's lawyer, Kathy Kinser, told the television station.
Crowley detailed Manziel's alleged attack as part of proceedings to obtain a protective order against the troubled Cleveland Browns quarterback, who is under criminal investigation on allegations of domestic violence.
Affidavit released: The NFL quarterback hit girlfriend Colleen Crowley so severely on January 29 that she suffered a ruptured eardrum and still can't hear in her left ear, Crowley's attorney said Monday
Crowley (pictured with Manziel) alleges that during an argument in Dallas earlier this month Manziel hit her repeatedly in the head before threatening to kill both her and himself
Manziel, a Heisman Trophy winner whose professional career has been marred by headlines about his drinking and other personal issues, is expected to be cut by the Browns next month.
He has not been arrested or charged.
In the affidavit, Crowley said she and Manziel had a confrontation in his hotel room at about 1:45 a.m. on January 30.
She said that her and Manziel had broken up in December after dating for two years and living together for four months in Cleveland.
Earlier in the night she had been having dinner with friends in Dallas and then went bar-hopping.
She had been texting with Manziel and agreed to him up with later.
Crowley accused Manziel of throwing her onto his bed after the two discussed him 'being with a girl who had caused us problems in the past.'
Crowley said she tried to leave, but he restrained her and led her downstairs to the valet, where he directed her to his car.
'Please don't let him take me,' she told the valet, according to her affidavit. 'I'm scared for my life!'
She said the valet disregarded her pleas for help.

Crowley and Manziel eventually made it to her vehicle in front of a Dallas bar, Concrete Cowboy, her affidavit says.
Manziel allegedly got into the driver's seat of her car and started to back out of the spot.
She said she opened her door and jumped out, running across the road and trying to hide on some bushes.
She accused him of chasing her down, grabbing her by the hair, throwing her back into the car and hitting her left ear.
'Fearful for my life, I hit (Manziel) several times, hoping I could back out of the car,' she said in the affidavit, adding Manziel 'threw me off of him and I hit my head on the car window and I fell into the passenger floorboard.'
'He hit me with his open hand on my left ear for jumping out of the car,' she wrote.
'I realized immediately that I could not hear out of that ear, and I still cannot today.'
Manziel (pictured in 2014 after being selected by the Cleveland Browns) has denied all the allegations against him and two police forces have dropped their investigations with no charges after Crowley became uncooperative during questioning
Police have said they drove to Fort Worth, where Crowley lives.
Crowley said that Manziel told her he was going to drop her off and then 'go kill myself'
She worried he was on drugs or having a 'psychotic break' so she started trying to calm him down by saying, 'I love you,' she wrote. 'We can figure this out, we can talk.'
Manziel 'started laughing at this and I became really scared,' she wrote.
He allegedly told her: 'Shut up or I'll kill us both!'
At her apartment, Crowley said that Manziel smashed her phone on some tiles when she asked for it.
She went inside her place and tried to FaceTime her parents while he paced outside.
The affidavit says that, when Manziel came into the apartment, he saw that Crowley had tried to her contact her parents, and she became scared.
'I became extremely scared as to what he might do,' she wrote. 'I was in my kitchen so out of fear for my life, I pulled a knife out of my knife block and advanced toward him.'
Manziel then fled on foot, and Crowley went to her neighbor's for help.
Manziel's attorney did not return a phone message Monday.
Crowley spoke to Dallas police on Friday, and shortly afterward, authorities announced they were investigating a domestic violence complaint against Manziel.
