Alan Drennan: Second post mortem takes place in Dublin

A second post mortem on the body of Alan Drennan, the County Antrim man who died in Ibiza on July 19, has taken place.

The Republic of Ireland's state pathologist carried out the second autopsy on the 21-year-old's body.

An earlier Spanish post-mortem examination concluded he had died from multiple organ failure.

His friends claimed he had been beaten by Spanish police after he was escorted from the plane on arriving in Ibiza.

The second post mortem examination could not be undertaken by the Northern Ireland Coroners Service because it does not have the authority to probe deaths that happened outside its jurisdiction.

Mr Drennan's family say they want answers about his death and issued an appeal for anyone who had travelled through San Antonio on the day he died to check any photographs or footage taken in the airport.

The Drennan's family solicitor, Michael Madden said: "This family would like anybody who has any photographs in the airport area and San Antonio area around the time of Saturday and Sunday, 18 and 19 July, to check their photos.

"There might be photos there, there might be videos there and there may be signs and images of Alan there that they don't even realise that they have which could be helpful to the investigation and any possible inquest."

Seven of his friends have made statements to the Police Service of Northern Ireland.
