MUMBAI: Senior BJP member and Maharashtra revenue minister Eknath Khadse on Wednesday confirmed that chief minister Devendra Fadnavis has ordered an inquiry by the anti-terrorism Squad (ATS) into his alleged links with underworld don
Dawood Ibrahim.
Fresh claims were made by an 'ethical hacker,' Manish Bhangale, on Tuesday, about seven calls allegedly made to Khadse’s phone number from Dawood’s residence.
Aam Admi Party (AAP) member Preeti Menon, who had demanded a probe into the allegations, met Mumbai police commissioner Dattatray Padsalgikar on Tuesday.
“The hacker again hacked into the emails of Mehjabeen Shaikh (Dawood’s wife), and got access to her Pakistan Telecommunications Company Limited account. He raised a query for calls made to Khadse’s number and got a response that from January 2015 to April 2015, seven calls were made,” said Menon.
Khadse said he himself wrote to Fadnavis and Union ministers Sushma Swaraj and Rajnath Singh demanding a probe.
