HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Warmer weather is here, which means it's time for farmers markets.

A grocery store chain with its roots in the farmers market tradition opened its doors to the Tennessee Valley early Wednesday morning.

Sprouts Farmers Market held its grand opening in a developing shopping center on the 7500 block of Highway 72.

After Wednesday's ribbon cutting, the first 200 customers were given a 20 percent discount off their purchase.

The surprises and specials didn't stop there: randomly-selected customers were offered coupon books, and many of the first through the door were offered a free re-usable bag.

According to the company, Sprouts Farmers Market works to deliver the best possible shopping experience to help customers live a healthy lifestyle at an affordable price.

Store leaders said they are currently fully-staffed, however anyone is welcome to bring a resume to be put on file for future hiring needs.
