DFD: Sonic booms in Boyle County caused by meteor shower

DANVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – People who live in Boyle County and surrounding counties reported hearing loud booms Thanksgiving night. Some people say it sounded like explosions, others say they didn’t just hear the loud booms, they felt them. Law Enforcement and emergency officials investigated the claims.

The Danville Fire Department determined the loud booms were sonic booms caused by a meteor shower.
