Eligible securities must be in the top 150 securities with the highest market capitalization values (calculated from over the past 12 months). Also, they must have monthly trading values on the main board that exceed 50 percent of the total market average for that month for at least three-quarters of the trading-month period under consideration. Finally, they must not have been suspended for an extended period of time, nor face delisting.
“There are 8 securities added into the calculation of SET50 for 1 July – 31 December 2004. They are the Thai Olefins Pcl. (TOC) and the Thai Plastics and Chemicals Pcl. (TPC) from the Industrials Group, United Communication Industry Pcl. (UCOM) from the Technology Group, Kim Eng Securities (Thailand) Pcl. (KEST) from the Financials Group, Ch.Karnchang Pcl. (CK) and Sino-Thai Engineering and Construction Pcl. (STECON) from the Property & Construction Group, and Precious Shipping Pcl. (PSL) and Thoresen Thai Agencies Pcl. (TTA) from the Services Group,” Mr. Suthichai said.
