The Terps could be shooting for 5-0 if they take care of business against Purdue this weekend, while the Nittany Lions have to get past Minnesota in Week 5. The matchup will be Maryland’s first conference road game of the season, while it’ll be right in the middle of Penn State’s three-game homestand. Ohio State will come to visit the Nittany Lions in Week 7.
Penn State narrowly edged Maryland when the two teams played at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore last season, while the Terps won, 20-19, two years ago in Happy Valley.
S&P+ gives Penn State a 68 percent probability to win, projecting a 5.3-point margin, though those numbers were bigger a week ago before the Nittany Lions lost to Michigan, 49-10.
Maryland’s homecoming game this week against Purdue is at 3:30 p.m., also on BTN.
