Select Comfort chooses Brown to fill CMO post

Minneapolis-based Select Comfort Corp., manufacturer and retailer of the Sleep Number airbed brand, announced yesterday that Kevin Brown was named senior vice president and chief marketing officer. He fills a post vacated by Michael Bills who left the company 10 months ago.

Brown is responsible for refining and implementing a marketing strategy and media formula that maximizes growth and supports the vision of the Sleep Number brand.

He has more than 20 years of experience in executive marketing posts. Prior to joining Select Comfort, Brown was group vice president and chief marketing officer for retailer Meijer Inc. He also has held executive roles at Sears Holding Corp., Jo-Ann Stores and Accenture.

“Kevin brings a history of proven leadership in consumer products, retail brand marketing and business development that fits well with our unique vertical business model and strong Sleep Number brand experience,” said Shelly Ibach, Select Comfort president and chief executive officer. “We look forward to integrating Kevin’s consumer-focused marketing expertise and strategic business orientation across our consumer touch-points—from digital to store experience.”
