Man robs Dollar General on Sussex Highway

Laurel police are searching for the man who robbed a Dollar General employee at gunpoint along Sussex Highway Sunday morning.

Officers were called to the store shortly before 8 a.m. for an armed robbery Monday, Officer First Class Christopher Story said, where they were told an unknown person with a black handgun robbed an employee. He then fled across the highway, he said.

The man is described as white, about 6 feel tall and wore a black hoodie, jeans and mask covering the bottom half of his face.

Police continue to investigate and said further details will be provided as they become available.
