Sempra Energy Q2 Adj. EPS Tops View, Backs Full Year Outlook - Quick Facts

Sempra Energy (SRE) Tuesday said its second-quarter earnings rose to $295 million, or $1.17 per share from $269 million, or $1.08 per share in the comparable quarter last year.

Adjusted earnings totaled $1.03 per share, while it was $1.08 per share last year. On average, 12 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings of $1.00 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Total revenues fell to $2.37 billion from $2.68 billion in the previous year, while four analysts expected revenues of $2.77 billion.

Further, Sempra Energy still expects 2015 adjusted earnings-per-share to be in the range of $4.60 to $5. Analysts expect the company to report earnings per share of $4.86 for the year.
