A Brooklyn man who was shot multiple times near the Brooklyn Academy of Music died after crashing his vehicle in Fort Greene last night. Police say the driver, identified as 31-year-old Eric McKinney, was found at the intersection of Ashland Place and Dekalb Avenue around 10:30 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered McKinney behind the wheel of his Jeep Wrangler bleeding from gunshot wounds to his left arm and torso. He was rushed to Brooklyn Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
It appears that McKinney was shot at Ashland Place and Fulton Street, near the BAM Harvey Theater, and then attempted to drive away. He only made it about a block before crashing.

No arrests have been made. Police sources tell NBC New York that eight shell casings were found at the scene of the shooting.
Relatives say McKinney, who lived on Utica Avenue in Crown Heights, was a hip-hop music producer and father of three. "He don't bother nobody, so when I got the news I thought they were playing with me," his cousin, Latoya Moffatt, told NBC New York.
Police have not released a description of the suspect or suspects, and the investigation is ongoing.
