Monsanto fund awards grants to 2 Lubbock organizations

The Lubbock United Neighborhood Association and the South Plains Wildlife Rehabilitation Center received $5,000 in grants from Monsanto's 2015 grant initiative.

According to a news release, LUNA plans to use the funds to purchase materials to sustain and expand community garden projects.

South Plains Wildlife Rehabilitation Center plans to use the funds for an environmental education and operation internship program.

This is the first year for LUNA and the second year for SPWRC to receive grants from the Lubbock site. Representatives from these organizations and the fund celebrated the grants with check presentations on July 22.
