Following a 12-month, $46.4 million redevelopment, employees with The Laclede Group are starting to move in at the company's new headquarters in the former General American Building, now called 700 Market at 700 Market St.

The downtown building was developed by The Koman Group, which bought the building for $11.5 million in early 2014.

When all is said and done, Laclede will have almost 500 employees at its new facility. A portion of Laclede's workforce will also work out of Bank of America Plaza, 800 Market St., across the street from the 700 Market.

Since 1970, Laclede had been headquartered at 720 Olive St., where it leased 120,000 square feet of space on nine floors of the 31-story building.
